I am the chairperson of The om Foundation charitable trust. It was opened in 2012 to educate girls from poor families. I started with 2 girls who were not allowed to study, no extra tutorial help after the school was given to them. Parents said stop going to school because they were girls extra money will not be spent on them. Therefore I taught them at my home without taking any money. I wanted children to study because only education can make them independent. But soon the number of girls increased to 16 and by 2015 I had more than 80 students. By 2020 hundreds of children have passed out their schools. Many have even started going to colleges.
In my Om Pathshala, These children are taught basic courses of their school, Moral education which they do not get fro their families are given to them and Nutritive foods like milk and fruits are given to them regularly.
In a few words, We take care of the mental, physical, and spiritual growth of these poor children which makes them a responsible citizen of India.
As I did not have funds I taught these students where ever place I got. It can be one room in clusters or parks or halls in the community center.As the number of children is increasing now The om foundation needs funds to build a place of its own for Om pathshala where we are not disturbed and can carry on our social responsibility of teaching and taking care of health, hygiene, and personality development of these underprivileged children. They are the future of our country.
