Respected Sir / Madam, We would like to bring to your notice about the brunt and fury of the cyclone Tauktae which hit the city few days back. This gusty wind and heavy rain lashed out our Shelter home, Mother Teresa Home (Shri Peter Memorial Trust), located at Virar, Palghar. We are located on the marshy land at Virar West, which is 5 km away from the railway station and just one kilometre from the sea coast. Our jurisdiction falls under the Tribal District. This is a Home for disabled Adults / Elders (Ladies & Gents), irrespective of their Religion, Caste & Creed at the grass root level for the last 24 years. This Shelter Home currently is accommodating more than hundred number of needy people. The cyclone caused widespread of devastation, resulting in damage of life, property, critical health infrastructure etc. It completely destroyed our Shelter Home. The entire property is damaged, kitchen is completely shattered, all the electric poles are broken and scores of power conductors have snapped. There are few causalities who are admitted to the Hospital out of which few are admitted to the ICU. The current situation is so pathetic, that our Shelter is without food, light, water, health care etc., the shelter home is completely raised to ground. The locals are helping with food and clothing. At this challenging time, we are looking for means of help and Financial Assistance to rebuild the Shelter Home for our brother and sisters who are homeless. We know the entire district had to bear the brunt of the weather, we will be highly obliged for any help on humanitarian ground. We beseech your timely act of generosity which will save many innocent souls who are struggling to survive. We would appreciate if you could support us directly or through your well-wishers & networks. Request you to please stand by Mother Teresa Home in hour of need. Looking forward to your generous contribution for this noble cause. Thanking you in anticipation for your kind contribution and goodwill. Yours Sincerely, Victor Lobo, Chairman (SPM Trust), Mother Teresa Home.
