The status of Gov't Schools in Ladakh is on the verdict of extinction with the popularity and growth of more Private schools in the Valley. Thankfully, Gov't Middle School Kanji is among the strongest base of existence with more than 40+ Kids still enrolled upto the middle School. but About more than half of the kids still study away from their families and Village in to other schools. We felt with the need of hour, its time we Bring Back the kids back to the village in one way or other so as to keep them connected to their roots, their identity, their culture and most importantly their Family, which most of the ladakhi students lack due to it vast geographical location.
With the help of Sponsors and Donors, Youth Association Kanji was able to organize the first 2 series of "Alternative Skill based Learning" very successfully with 83 Kids enrolled in the 1st and 92 Kids enrolled in the 2nd version of the Winter Camp. This year, we plan to bring back more kids(100+) to the village and provide them with a Winter Camp full of Fun Learning, project based Learning, 21st Century Skills, Traditional Values & Skills, Ice Hockey, and many more.
Besides the free facilitation, we also provide free food and Stationary for the Kids for the full camp ranging from 35days to 45 days.
Please share your helping hand and support us in hosting a successful 3rd version of the "Alternative Skill Based Winter Camp" for more than 100+ Students"
