    The Bloomingdales school

    from Bengaluru, Karnataka

The Blooming Dale School established in 2003, is managed by a charitable trust- Good Hope Educational and Cultural Trust. Our school primarily caters to around 150 children from in and round Basavanagudi, Khalasipalya and KR market area mostly with a family income of Rs.6,000- Rs.10,000. The pandemic has hit a lot of these vulnerable families who are dependent on daily wages. We are currently conducting online classes to ensure that children are able to keep in touch with their academics; with the help of a few patrons who have donated tabs. Our endeavor is to ensure that all our students remain inside a continuous learning framework and to ward off dropouts. From its inception the school has been operating in Basavanagudi but recently the school was forced to move to rented premises in the wake of structural damage caused by the faulty construction of the neighboring building. We are currently in the process of completing the school building; which needs to be a safe environment to start classes once the government decides to start offline classes which may happen by September- October of this year.  The schools going forward be able to expand to 10th standard and ensure that these children will at least pass their SSLC exams and can take up vocational trainings in the future. Handholding these children for two years will ensure that they tide over this pandemic and later become productive members of our society. Children who will be responsible citizens and build the nation of our dreams while supporting their families. Join hands with us and support these children to continue with their schooling.
