India accounts for about 27% of cervical cancer deaths worldwide - twice the global average. According to the World Health Organisation, lack of access to sanitary napkins during menstruation is the top contributing factor to such a devastating statistic.
In a third-world country like India, many females are forced to resort to unhygienic menstrual practices - and are thus susceptible to having cervical cancer.
January is marked as Cervical Cancer Awareness Month, and we at Teens for Cancer Patients, are raising funds to purchase sanitary napkins. The pads will be distributed to girls in selected orphanages in Bangalore, India. Additionally, masks will also be provided given the ongoing COVID-19 Pandemic.
We encourage you to donate to help girls have healthier cervixes! If you wish to donate in kind, please reach out to
