Problem Statement:
Lack of emotional, moral, and financial support to all the teachers teaching in the low-income budget private school segment in Hyderabad. This community earnings range between 2500 to 10,000 per month and more than 90 % of them are females belonging to the underprivileged in terms of the economic scale. Currently, they have been unemployed for more than 10 months and their social standing in their own community has led them to a state of low self-esteem and to a state of hopelessness.
Aim:
To listen, understand, analyze and strategically intervene in the under-resourced teaching community of the low budget private school segment in Hyderabad, the impact of Covid-19 and lockdown on their mental health, physical and social well-being.
Goals:
Capture the data from 220 teachers in Hyderabad city on the impact of Covid-19 on their emotional and social well-being through Focussed Group Discussions and Individual Surveys.
Visualize the data, create trends, publish a report with necessary inputs for government and civil societies to act upon.
Create an intervention plan for these teachers in these communities to support and help them in their needs.
Plan of Action
Call and personally speak with 220 teachers and document their stories
Provide one-time ration to all the 220 teachers
Visit the most difficult zones and organized a focus group discussion to listen to their struggles and capture qualitative and quantitative data.
Provide a one - time essential goods support to all the teachers in these schools worth 1300 rupees.
Visualize the data with Excel Tools and publish a report on the findings with a recommendation and action plan
Project Cost:
