Tapan Nath, 17 years-old, class 11 student, the only child of his parents met with a fatal bike accident on 1st Feb 2021. He was the pillion rider and the rider passed away. Due to the impact, he fell almost 10 meters away on a hard paddy field with his head on the left side leading to a fracture in the skull.

Luckily he was rushed immediately to the hospital and put on a ventilator in a nursing home by his relatives and friends. He is currently in a coma and in the Life support system with his body leg movement to some extent.

His father works as a home guard on a temporary appointment basis. He works for hardly 9 months a year with a salary, not more than 7500/- a month and his mother is a housewife. In four days nursing home ventilator and medical expenses become 1.5L in Aditya Nursing Home, Dibrugarh. Somehow with help of relatives, it was being managed.  As per doctors, they are hopeful of him recovering through medication as they seem to be no major brain hemorrhage.

However the treatment will be fully conservative, but it will be a long struggle of probably months, and suggested to shift him to govt medical college. After a lot of struggle, we manage to get him admitted to the Assam Medical college ICU with a ventilator.

Also, we could manage to get the card through Atal Amrit Abhijan which covers daily Rs 500 doctor expense, 2500 ICU bed expense, and 2000 of medicine. However daily expenses apart from this in medicines, consumables, lab test is running up to 15000 a day. The expected duration for this stay will be months as per assessment, Dr tried to remove the ventilator but has to put it back. He has to first come back to normal breathing followed by other procedures required for his survival.

It is expected an expense of Rs 600000 to 800000 for the next 30/40 days including major scanning like CT, MRI, etc., They hardly have 3 bighas of farmland, and both are BPL cardholders. Even if they sell all land in the remote village they will not get more than 1.5L.

There is no other hope for the family except asking for help from kind souls like you. A bit from you may not hurt you much but will give a lease of life to Tapan and hope to his parents to live. He is the only hope for them to live. God never gives such situations to anyone. Just experience the joy of giving to a real cause, no matter how much small it is. 1000 people giving 100 is 1L and no amount is small.
