Hello everyone

I am Tannvi, a second-year BA; LLB student at CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Bangalore. I along with, Arathi P and Varshini Prasad, who are 4th year BA; LLB students from CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Bangalore have been selected to represent our university in the Jean Pictet Competition 36th edition (Francophone and Anglophone, Denpasar, Indonesia, September-October 2021). I have attached underneath the selection mail we received. The competition is a unique moot on International Humanitarian Law, which aims to take the law beyond the books.

We three do not earn presently and will mostly not be able to for the next few years.  The competition is a step- forward in our professional career in law. The criteria for selection were our knowledge and experience of Public International Law, a Statement of Purpose, and two core theoretical questions which had to be answered as a part of our Application. This is the first time CHRIST (Deemed to be) University will be participating in this prestigious competition.

However, our team has been unable to obtain any financial support from our institution due to paucity of funds. It is for this reason that we have turned for help towards your philanthropy.


We are looking for funding for registration and general expenses of living and food, estimated to be Euro 1300, according to the official Jean Pictet Competition Registration (Article 8). Furthermore, the estimation of the travel expense for this academic competition is based on the commercial high season rate for jet economy travel on Air Asia is INR 27,434 for a round individual trip.
