I hope this post finds you all in good health. We need your help to raise funds for the treatment of my father, Mr Sutapan Sarkar. He is 63 years old and a resident of Kolkata, West Bengal.
He tested Covid positive on 22nd of May, prior to which he has been sick for the past 3 days. He was unable to move on his own and was in constant need of our assistance. His oxygen level showed fluctuations and C-Reactive Protein was grossly elevated to 93.1. He was then admitted to the hospital on the same day his test report came, and was kept in the ICU and later on, has been shifted to the ICCU on oxygen support on 23rd May. The CT scan of his chest showed severe infection in the lower parts of his lungs. The doctor has said that he will be kept under close monitoring for atleast 2 weeks, and during this time he will be administered Remdesivir, the first dose of which has been injected on 23rd May.
For a long time now, we had been under the burden of an acute financial crisis and our savings are running out. Most times, our household finances and my education are been sustained by my previous scholarships which have now been completely availed. There are no other source of income in our family, and my father's mediclaim has an insured amount of only Rs. 1,00,000. Hence it is my humble appeal to all of you to help us financially in these times of dire need.
The hospital bill updated in the afternoon of 24th May stand at around Rs. 67,000, excluding the doctors' charges.
We have estimated that in the next 15 days we might be needing close to Rs. 8,00,000 - 10,00,000 for complete treatment. He has been brave throughout and has been putting up a strong fight during this time. Please come forward to support our cause and know that no contribution is too less.
