Rohit's father Mahadevaswamy is a security guard who has been struggling to make ends meet ever since Covid-19 closed down all the retail shops in Bengaluru he used to work for. Their family, comprising of Mrs Bhagyalakshmi and Rohit's younger brother Ganesh are fighting hard to pay their school fees. (screenshots attached)

Their plight was brought to my notice by Surya who is an underprivileged artist himself. He has been dealt a very bad hand in life with his father and sister succumbing to suicide due to various health and financial issues. He currently stays with his mother who works as a maid in Malleshwaram. Despite this, Surya has a great spirit when it comes to helping others and has done his best to help people like Rohit, who is his neighbourhood friend. 

Surya is a passionate, talented artist and is currently pursuing his advanced course in arts and painting at Chitrakala Parishath, Seshadripuram. He does his best to support his family by taking up small painting jobs for the local schools and temples. He aspires to be a successful artist and dreams about opening his own small art studio in Bengaluru.

The money raised via this fundraiser will be used to pay Rohit's and Ganesh's school fees on priority (I have already provided 14k for covering Rohit's urgent needs). The remaining shall be used for sponsoring Surya's artistic needs like paint, canvases etc Surya also hopes to pick up some digital skills that will help him reach a wider audience.
