My father was admitted in Sunrise Hospital, Kochi for his Covid-19 treatment on 11th May 2021. He was under the treatment for 8 days due to fever, cough, breathing issue, Chest pain and pneumonia. He was discharged on 18th May 2021and at the time of discharge he was diagnosed to have Covid-19 positive . After 3 days he had some other symptoms like Leg pain and difficulty in having food. On 24th May he was tested negative even though these symptoms increased and as per the blood test taken infection identified. So for one week till May 31st 2021 he was under home care treatment from the same hospital. But the situation worsened and he was in a condition were he couldn't able to walk and have food. On 1st June 2021 again he was admitted in Sunrise hospital and diagnosed as Post Covid "Sequalae in metabolic Encephalopathy".The treatment carried over and he was discharged on 8th June 2021. At the time of discharge he had disorientation and has not been able to ambulate completely. The urine and feeding tube were removed five days after discharge. But his condition again got complicated with high infection in blood and urine. So he was shifted to another hospital named Aster Medcity, Kochi on an Emergency basis. After 3 days of Antibiotic treatment his condition not improved and based on the MRI and Blood test it was identified that the infection affected his Kidney Function and Creatine level shifted to 7.9. This leads to dialysis treatment and during second dialysis he had undergone with two Cardiac Arrest and Low blood pressure. Then immediately shifted to ICU with ventilator. For the past five days he was in ICU and as per the discussion with doctors currently he is having a Shrinkage in nerves and bleeding in head along with Kidney and Cardiac issues. As per doctors opinion there was not much recovery till now and even if he recovered he will not in a position to walk and have food and along with that he need to continue the dialysis treatment. His treatment cost till 25th June 2021 was around 7 lakhs and will need more fund for his further treatment. We are not in a position to stay here for more and with the consent of doctors he may shifted to hospital in our home town ie Kannur. But still we are not sure how long this treatment will continue in hospital itself.
