Hello everyone. Hope you all are keeping safe and well. We would like to thank you for all the kind support and contribution that you have generously extended towards this campaign. Here's a small update on Sunita Mondal Bhakta's current state of health and treatment.

This is Sunita, this is how she used to be in the days before she was diagnosed with her ailment

Sunita was admitted in IILDS, Sonarpur, situated in the district of South 24 Parganas of West Bengal, on18th of September. After two days of her admission, when her COVID test report came negative, she had her thorough check up done under by Dr. Dipankar Mondal, gastroenterologist, at IILDS, and she was diagnosed with chronic bile duct and liver blockage. Then the MRCP test was done on 21st September and malignancy was detected. The consulting doctors discussed and suggested a major operation within two weeks where 50% of her liver was decided to be cut off. As her bilirubin level was too high, the consulting doctor immediately did a micro surgery on 22nd September, where a PTBD channel was done to drain out the extra bilirubin from her body. She was discharged on 25th September and was advised to come back for the major operation after her bilirubin level went down to less than 5.

Thereafter, she was twice taken for LFT and CBC tests in order to be deemed stable enough for her re-admission in hospital and the pending surgery, but in the first test she was detected to having very low albumin i.e. 2.74 and the Surgeon Dr. Somak Das strongly advised her to stay at the hospital for more than two weeks. A couple of days back, she underwent another blood test of LFT and CBC where albumin level is almost ok i.e. 3.40 but the bilirubin is still high that is at 8.54. On coming Monday we will go for another consultancy regarding the surgery date and timing.

Sunita's husband is working in Haldia Municipality as group D worker. Till now we have had expenses of more than 95 thousand rupees. The funds raised through this campaign, was withdrawn into her father's account, Mr. Nityagopal Mondal's SBI account, since her husband Mr. Sujit Bhakta has been having ATM card issues. So far, we have withdrawn ₹30,853.74 which has been used to pay for her medical bills including some of the expenses incurred at the hospital as well as the pharmacy, and have placed a new withdrawal request of Approx. ₹485.37, which shall also be used to procure her medicines.

The family now needs your help and support more than ever. Please keep supporting their cause, by donating to this campaign and sharing it with your networks, as much as you can. We are sharing some of her reports below for your kind perusal.
