Story

Dear Sir/Ma'am🙏

I Sunita Kamal
hereby feeling grateful to present the work done by our SANSTHA NARI SHAKTI SANGH, and we are very thankful for your assistance in funding our NGO and being a big help to nurture the future of the children, people of those slums.

Name of the society:
Nari shakti Sangh(regd.) Mahipalpur
Location: E-2,Singhi Basti, Vasant Kunj,
                 New Delhi

Areas under work:
Arjun camp,
Rangpuri  Pahari,
 Mahipalpur village,
 Singhi Basti.

We have been working in this Sanstha for the last 6 to 7 years with supportive and helpful members. The people living in these areas include mainly laborer's and contribute a huge number of financial income to the Indian government, but still, they are completely abreast of the fundamental and basic facilities or necessities.
The children of Singhi Basti are mostly involved in roadside begging and selling. As in our country, most of the festivals are celebrated, " Begging on the name of God" is one of the major sources of their family income. Children, teenagers(especially girls) go to different carnivals or Melas celebrated in their region to sell small toys utensils, etc. to earn some penny.
Political representation of these regions and of the people also is too less. The people living in those slums call themselves the indigenous people of that region.
The children in those places are full of talent and spirit. They are so good in fine arts, music, dancing, sports, drawing, acting, young girls cutting tailoring and many other activities.
Because of lack of knowledge and awareness, they are less inclined towards academics and schooling and tend not to study so hard, but many students have gotten admissions in government and private schools by the help of the NGO people. The women of these regions are mostly married in their young ages and do household work as a means of their income.

During lockdown due to the COVID-19 pandemic, people of Singhi Basti and other nearby slums, became unemployed because they don't have any permanent occupation. We distributed dry ration, dairy products, biscuits, fruits, menstrual pads for females, soap, handmade masks made of cotton cloth. We got assistance from people who had extra ration and managed to distribute. I wish to make a better future for the unprivileged but talented children and help them grow and shine in the future.

During winters we distributed, Blanket, Shawls, Sweaters to everyone and made sure their immune systems and they are in a good health. For children, we distributed fruit cake, Maggi/noodles, milk, footie, etc.

The times for the activity to be conducted would be 5 days a week for a latest 2 hours in a day the duration of the project would be for 6 month
