I am Sunita, seeking urgent help to fund the medical expenses of my 20 years old daughter Mamta, who recently gave birth to a baby boy.

My daughter married last year and soon after that became pregnant. Her husband and in laws refused to fund her medical expenses and sent her back to me.

I am a single mother and work as a house help. My income is barely enough to cover my minimum expenses. My husband abandoned me after my second child was born and I raised both my children alone. A few years back, I went through immense psychological trauma after my teenage son died due to medical negligence.

I did not want to take any risk with my daughter's health. I wanted to ensure that my daughter got good quality treatment and gave birth to her child safely.

Mamta had a very complicated pregnancy and also developed other health issues before childbirth and had to be hospitalised several times.  

After repeated hospital visits I ran out of funds completely. I could not afford private health care anymore and took her to a municipal hospital hoping that we would get affordable, good quality treatment. But we had very negative experiences due to lack of medical facilities and total disregard of patient's interests.

I finally had to take her for delivery at a private hospital when she suddenly went into labour. I was on the verge of a break down and my friends and family came forward to help me with loans to cover the medical expenses so that my daughter and her child's life could be saved.

Thankfully, the child was born healthy. But, he got jaundice just after he was born and I had to take loans again to pay for his medical expenses. Mamta also had other health complications after childbirth and had to be given additional treatment and medication. She and her child still have not recovered completely and further medical expenses could be incurred.

The expenses have left me completely bankrupt and also in debt. I used all my savings, mortgaged both mine and my mother's jewellery and took multiple loans from several people.

The total cost of the medical expenses, medicines etc so far are Rs 1,78, 667/-. All bills have been attached.

I am also currently paying mortgage on jewellery and interest on loans to multiple creditors.

In addition to that there have been expenses for special dietary needs of Mamta both during and post pregnancy, travel expenses for multiple hospital visits and other maternity and childcare costs.

I am looking to raise Rs. 2.5 Lakhs to cover total medical expenses, clear all my debts and keep a contingency fund for medical, child care and maternity expenses for Mamta and her child in the immediate future.

I humbly request you to donate any amount you are comfortable with, so that I can pay off my debts, keep my daughter and grand child safe and we can start living with dignity and self respect.
