The school was previously funded by Hans Foundation, Delhi up until the year 2019. Then onwards, the school had made arrangements for further funding, all of which fell through as the pandemic came upon and jolted our day-to-day lives. We had enough resources to continue for a few months - for the first three months, we were able to pay the teachers and staff full salaries to continue with their job. After that, however, we had to cut down on the salaries to be able to afford to carry forward. Despite this, our teachers and staff stayed back in the school because they believed in the cause - to give a self-reliant life to the children who're otherwise neglected or invisible in the eyes of society.
The donation we are hoping to raise through Milaap will cover the salaries of the thirty-seven total staff and teachers of the school in the coming months, the rent of the school building so that the students who have grown to associate the building as their second home won't have to lose it, and hopefully, cover the cost of online studies for twenty students whose family are undergoing financial constraints due to the pandemic. The donation will also provide us the time needed to make a more permanent arrangement of funding for the school, which we otherwise would have to shut down.
Riddhi has stayed true to its mission for twenty-two years by giving the students a voice with personal care and assistance. It is a small, yet extremely supportive community of its own. Our priority now is that, just like our students, we must become self-reliant too, so that we can create an environment where our students and teachers don't have to worry about the school staying afloat while furthering their education. With your help, we can achieve this goal and make sure that these children have a bright future just like everybody else.
