Kerala being the most literate state of India, has recently noticed suicidal cases of the students who have been held back from attending online classes due to unaffordability of resources such as laptops, mobile phones or tablets. Considering this issue, we, the students of IGC (International Graduate Center) Hochschule Bremen, Germany have started a campaign named "Escholars" and are seeking support from you to help these kids.
During this current pandemic the mostly affected are the children, they cannot go to schools, they cannot meet their friends, they cannot go out to play, in short children are facing depression. There are many families in tribal villages of Kerala with more than two children and are struggling to cover basic needs. In this situation parents of such children are not able to afford the expenses for buying laptops or tablets for their child's education. Even if few of the family can afford buying one laptop or tablet in a family, it won't be enough for two or more children, since they might be studying in different classes and the class timings would be same. According to the census 2020, Kerala is a state with 96.2 percentage of literacy rate, in such a state with high literacy rate students are always concerned about their education and future. Children with more anxiety and fear believes that being not able to attend online classes while their friends are attending the classes will leave them behind in studies and also in career. Due to Covid-19 many students with the same thoughts ended up in the same idea of commiting suicide.
While searching for an ideal option to execute this project, we found that HELPING HANDS ORGANISATION, an NGO in Kerala, India are already working on this issue. So we decided to collaborate with them and continue with the campaign.OUR PLAN OF ACTION ON THE RAISED MONEY:
