"BALAJYOTHI," is the name of the Children’s Home that Anekal Jesuit Educational and Charitable Society run for children from economically backward groups. The word Balajyothi means ‘a little flame.’ Our vision is to ignite ‘little flames’ that brighten the future of this nation. Balajyothi was started in 1998 to educate children from rural areas in and around Anekal Taluk of Bangalore district. It caters to the needs of the poor students who lack proper schooling and transport facilities.
The project GLOW is designed to groom leaders of the world by igniting their minds with new ideas, creative thinking, opportunities and facilities. We envision grooming leaders who are confident to lead others for a better world. The project aims at providing quality educational opportunities to the children who belong to groups not limited to scheduled cast, scheduled tribe and other backward communities.
Balajyothi is ever vibrant with young and energetic minds ready to grow and bring out the hidden talents within themselves. It is a home away from home that creates an atmosphere for children to explore their inner world. We conduct different activities like talent hunts, tuitions, coaching for competitive exams, personality development programmes, parent accompaniment programs, the celebration of cultural and national festivals and awareness programmes related to issues in the society. This gives an opportunity to widen their horizon to groom themselves to become little flames of hope to both our nation and the world.
- To reach out to the children who are not able to get basic education
- To ensure a safe and prosperous future for children by enhancing educational support and providing boarding facilities along with nourishment and basic supplies
- To provide educational opportunities to children in the villages and provide educational materials such as books, stationery and uniforms
We envisage providing education as well as a residential facility to hundred children from underprivileged and backward communities of the target area. We are seeking financial help as this home which has offered employment opportunities to many is unable to sustain the cost on its own. Moreover, quality education is also a great challenge, yet it can be made possible within the infrastructure facilities. Better facilities would give greater impetus to quality education.
“Only by giving are you able to receive more than you already have,” says Jim Rohn. The act of giving without the expectation of something in return is the true definition of kindness. Our ability to transform lives is dependent on financial support in the form of voluntary donations. Through this, we aim at contributing to nation-building by training students in different skills and analyses. Your contribution will be utilized to fulfil the needs of underprivileged children.
