Pandemic has created an irreparable hiatus in our students' education and their personal well being which cannot be bridged if we don't take the necessary steps right at this moment.
Social media lamentations have made us sink into a boat where we found ourselves helpless. This unfettered virus has widened the gap between students and their education once again.
We need your support now more than ever. We have pledged long ago that we will let the lights of education shine brighter and we will not stop. We just need you to join us in this march to provide equal opportunity to our students.
Our intention is to make sure that not a single child is deprived of education. We have given our 100% to make sure that we provide everything possible so that our students can have access to education and a healthy lifestyle all through the pandemic.
Most of the students in the St Saras High School come from impoverished communities around the Ejipura/Neelasandra slum in Bangalore. They are the children of daily laborers, domestic help, and factory workers who work long hours for minimum wages. Their school fees range from ₹ 23,000 to ₹ 25,000 annually. The school has agreed to reduce the fee for this academic year to ₹ 10,000 per child. The grades 2, 4 and 6 have a total of 61 students who are reachable post the pandemic. To be able to run the school efficiently and continue their education, we, the teachers of St. Saras High School (Neha, Aishwarya and Jayasree), are raising funds to support the parents in clearing the fees due for the academic year 2020-2021 for these 61 students so that the school can provide these students the needful without any obstructions. Any additional funds raised would be directed towards the books and stationery for the students.
