In our small town of Kota, Rajasthan human shelters doesn't function well due to lack of assets. Now imagine visiting a dog shelter?! It's full of dead and decaying, unattended dogs with wounds sitting in their own faeces under darkness, all alone. We weekly volunteered for a shelter & it wasn't until we witnessed a super happy puppy dying starvation. It was followed by death of three dogs due to maggots. It made us start working for them, the pain was unbearable.
It has been 2 years and we have a rehab place set up on roof of my house, it is like a home for the dogs that need rehabilitation. We have saved more than 1500 dogs and either released or has gotten them adopted in happy environments. All our rescues are being treated at a private veterinary multi speciality clinic because why think of them as any less than our pets?! Moreover, kota doesn't have government veterinary specialists and thus hospitals are highly risky. It is better to let a dog die off streets then to cage them in a filthy environment making fake promises of life, where all the face is suffering.
These funds will help us in getting AN AMBULANCE which means we won't have to wait for autos to agree on taking our sick strays and also no paying 1000 Rupees for every round to Veterinary clinic. When a dog needs emergency visit to vets, being it the only way to save it's life and you don't have a four wheeler to carry it, imagine the trauma...
This will help us majorly in increasing our working capacity, more sterelising and better maintenance of the major surgical cases we take throughout year. Also, helping more and more dogs and hosting emergency cases without the worry of running to autos.
Please help us, help strays of kota. If you want to visit us on social media, our page is named "Mission Paws" and if you want to visit us in real, we greet you with open arms!!
