So many beautiful babies are born every year, but they perish without receiving love and compassion. In Howrah of West Bengal, India, there is almost no infrastructure for the street animals; sending them for treatments outside of this city is quite difficult and costly. Their existence is dependent on human whims and pity. Animal Birth Control reduces human cruelty and ensures a peaceful animal-human coexistence in urban India in the long run.
Swatilekha has been trying to improve their condition for the last 5 years. She organizes annual Vaccination & Awareness Programmes along with Sterilisation Drives. In 2019 and 2020, she has managed to sterilize 20-25 dogs. Apart from these, she is a regular feeder and caregiver in the adjacent areas of B. Garden. She is planning to send 30 dogs for sterilization by this December 2020, which calls for approximately 60,000 INR.
