We are a small community in Kolkata, West Bengal, India where a group of animal lovers have come together to take care of stray animals providing them food, shelter, medical care, vaccinations, and also neuter them.
We started this initiative in 2016 with about 6 animals and now in 2021 we are at 75 animals. We are committed to a sustainable and most humane solution to reduce the growth of stray animals, but we also support these animals to co-exist and sustain their lives as a part of the ecological system, and our planet.
We observed that stray animals often live on rotten food, dead rodents and garbage dumped by humans as a result there is chance of spreading disease , if they bite someone, but with clean food we can avoid this. Whilst food isn’t the only struggle strays are going through, but also their health is heavily impacted. Additionally, with the economic situation worsening, theft of dogs and cats for the brutal meat trade is becoming more rampant. We lost about 3 dogs and 2 cats in 2020.There has been a steady increase in abandoned animals in public places, either with the mistaken belief that animals can pass on COVID-19, or a financial setback has left owners unable to care for them, or the pet is severely unwell, etc.
We are giving dogs and cats a lifeline. In these difficult times, kindness and empathy is important.

As years pass, we are struggling to afford the bare minimum i.e. Food and basic medicines which amount to INR 195000 per year.

What’s the goal?
All the funds we receive will be utilized to serve the animals of this community. We plan to vaccinate all the animals every year, that we currently cannot afford. Additionally it will allow us to provide food and medicine without the financial struggle.
The total estimated cost is ~ INR 259000 per annum and the only way we can achieve this is with your support.
Our financial goal is to raise INR 700,000 which will be sufficient for next 2.5 to 3 years.
