After many awaited years and multiple failed attempts to experience motherhood, I was blessed to meet my angel at an ADOPTION centre in Karimnagar, Telangana India. It wasn't an easy task to find her. April 2015 was a memorable day for me when I saw her for the first time . She was around 4-5 months old. A new journey has begun with my little angel blessing our home with love and affection. We had a purpose to live now. We named her Stasya and with love we call her CAROL at home...
With her, everyday has been a celebration. Time flew in a jiffy and Carol was slowly growing and meeting her milestones. However, in time, we found out that she had some difficulties as she would not respond to my voice and started showing what she wanted instead of asking. Her paediatrician said, "It's common in some kids as they pick up words little later than the others and she being an adopted child may show slower progress than usual." I thought school may help her to learn quickly and we got her admitted to a play school nearby.
In the beginning, everything was fine as she was enjoying being at school, making new friends and exploring the world in many ways. But the happiness didn't last for long. It all started with a phone call from school and we were told that she was lagging behind in communication and responsiveness to the teachers. I have tried out various ways to communicate with her and we were advised to undergo some tests to check her hearing ability just to realise that she cannot hear and so can't speak as well. With this complaint, the school asked me to get her into a school for special kids as she won't be able to learn like a normal child. We were shattered by this news and I could see nothing but darkness in my life again. And I stopped working as Carol needs my complete attention to lead a normal life.
Since then, I have been exploring various options available for her to lead a normal life. I have contacted many hospitals, speech therapy centers and hearing aids agencies to understand the best option for her. It seemed to be an expensive affair to provide any of the options. I have taken her to tests multiple times to understand the level of her hearing disability and finally she was advised to go for a Bi-lateral Cochlear implant surgery which would not cost us any less than Rs.20 Lakhs.
Carol is now 5 years and as per the doctor's suggestion, she won't be able to hear and speak forever if the surgery is not done immediately before she turns 6.We have started speech therapy before the onset of pandemic in India but the lockdown has halted all our plans and she lost precious one year of time to correct her impairments. I have been running pillar to post to get estimation for surgery and also raise funds from kith and kin. Recently, I lost my mother and we are fighting lonely in this battle for Carol to give her a normal life so she won't be depending on anyone to do her own chores in day to day life. She has already lost her precious childhood. She is using sign language to communicate with us and she is deprived of school or any other activities of that age group. I am putting every drop of my blood to give her a reasonable future. Carol father is a employee and he has been to arrange some amount with the help from office but still we need around 15 lakhs to complete the surgery for two ears and speech theraphy.

As per the estimate that we have received from Apollo Hospitals, Hyderabad the Cochlear surgery (one ear) - will cost Rs. 9,40,000/-
Total (bi-lateral) -Rs.18,80,000/-
Speech Therapy
(post-operative) -Rs. 2,00,000/-

I am trying all the means to raise the fund for the surgery. I have been raising funds through various sources, for every penny matters and so far I could arrange for Rs. 600000/- from known sources. We are falling short of Rs. 14,80,000/- for the surgery and therapy.
Please help me and come forward in this fund raising program, please share with your family and friends, Facebook, Twitter etc and make a difference. Funds will be utilised for the surgery and speech therapy which is the only lifeline for my child to lead a normal life like you and me.
