St. Joseph's English High School at Kapurbawdi, Thane was established on 13th June 1987 to educate the slum children and empower the underpriviledged society through education. Our journey of over 3 decades has been very progressive and fulfilling in terms of education imparted to our students from the slums who have now graduated to become doctors, engineers etc. Currently we have 280+ students with teaching and non teaching staff of 14 people. 

Why we need your support?
COVID - 19 pandemic has deeply affected the income and livelihood of people. This has a cascading effect on the education of children belonging to poor and lower income section of the society. Parents are unable to pay the school fees of their child/children studying in our school. This, in turn, has made the situation worse for our school to make salary payments to our teachers and also to maintain the administrative cost of our school, since it is situated in the slum locality of Kapurbawdi. However, the school has borrowed funds and managed to pay the salaries of the teachers till August 2020, but with the present and approaching situation and with no funds at our end, we are unable to make salary payments of our teachers. If this situation persists, we may have to close the school.
