Located within the cramped galleries of Mehrauli, Mehrauli Kothe Kale Khan school is providing elementary education from more than 30 years, currently catering 1000+ kids from the community.
As a part of my project contract, I, Srishti, was alloted this school an year back. According to the assessments taken 5 months, the reports showed, that more than 70% of students failed in basic grade level math, english comprehension and general awareness.
Since more than a year no teachers have been allocated to some classrooms of the school. This creates a lot of unwanted noise, disruption in smooth functioning of the school and zero learning for the kids on everyday basis. All in all the future of more than 1000 kids is on stake although they have been enrolled to the school.
This project aims to provide monetary support to the school in order to help the kids reimagine their current education by allocating more teachers/ volunteers, creating school development structures, installing facilities for clean drinking water and washroom, libraries, computer lab, sports, a joyful learning infrastructure and a redesigned education framework for all the coming batches of students.
The situation of the school is degrading at an alarming rate due to the lack of flow of funds. A strong elementary education is the base of a quality secondary education too.
