I am “Srimathy Gopalakrishnan”, I have worked as a Maternity clinic nurse for the past 35 years in Anuradha Maternity clinic Chennai. I recently underwent Open heart surgery in Kauvery Hospital Chennai on 15 July 2021 due to Severe cardiac arrest and am currently in Post-op recovery mode.
I am from a lower-middle-class family, living with my husband and son. Our family has been going through very tough times in terms of health as well as financially. I am reaching out in every possible way to fund my treatment.
My husband is a senior citizen who recently was affected by covid-19 and was admitted to VHS Chennai for 8 days of treatment for which we used my Son's company insurance coverage. After which he tore his right ankle ligament which was taken care of with our family savings.
Brief about my condition:
I had an accident on July 6th because of which I had an extreme right leg blood clot, through this instance we found that my heart was 60% blocked and urgently required Open Heart surgery by taking arteries and veins from my left leg, along with this had to undergo vascular surgery for my right thigh blood clot. I am also under lifelong diabetes caretaking insulin shots at weekly regular intervals.
I initially got admitted to the hospital I worked for but as they were limited with the treatment option, I got admitted to Kauvery hospital, where they operated on me immediately as my condition got worse and having had repeated heart attacks.
Total hospital cost came around 6,90,000 ₹ ($ 9297) for which only 1,46,000 ₹ ($ 1967) was covered by my son's insurance claim as already we have used some insured amount for my husband earlier in the year.
I took help from my colleagues, my family, friends, and my son took emergency medical help from his office and help from his friends/contacts, family managed to settle hospital bills to get me discharged. After a week of operation, my left leg started to ooze out pus and the doctor suggested getting medical dressing on an everyday basis, as I am diabetic it’s expected to take months for my condition to improve.
I am expecting 5,00,000 ₹ – 5,40,000 ₹ ($ 6737 - $ 7276) for my post-op and diabetic medical expense for me and my family for the next 8 months and also have no insurance to claim till next April 2022. We have exhausted all our capacity to arrange funds from friends and family.
Please help as my family is in dire need of financial help and have been reaching for the Same.
PS: I am creating his campaign with help of my son to fund my treatment and I have attached the discharge summary and all reports, prescriptions & bills.
