Her late father was a factory worker at my uncle's coffee vending machine manufacturing outfit. Her father passed away very suddenly rendering this small family without any breadwinner. Her mother, a home maker all this while, has become a maid since this tragedy and is struggling to put 3 square meals on the table every day.
Spoorthi always used to score above 95% in all her school exams. At the cusp of losing her father a few weeks before her board exams, she still managed to score a wonderful 85%. She aspires to become a Chartered Accountant and is very passionate about this dream. She has secured admission at Surana College at Basavanagudi, Bengaluru.
Her mother is unable to afford the school fees, books and other fees for even one academic year. My uncle's organization is making very difficult trade offs to continue to pay their existing employees driven by the enormous pandemic induced economic disruption. Funding Spoorthi's education is beyond his immediate capacity in light of other urgent employee welfare demands.
I can personally vouch for the credibility of the cause and the beneficiary's urgent needs. My mother - Kalyani Sukumar - is on the ground and is in touch with both Spoorthi and her mother on a daily basis.
I'm seeding the fundraiser with 200 SGD to ignite the campaign! I'm grateful for every and any little contribution you can spare. It makes a huge difference to Spoorthi and her mother :)
