SMITHI, BATTLING FOR HER LIFE, NEEDS YOUR HELPING HAND

FAMILY BACKGROUND:
Smithi, a smart and a lovable girl, hails from Kadugodi, Whitefield, Bengaluru. She is the eldest among her two siblings (both studying, still in their academics). Being a professional plumber, her father takes up repair works on an as-needed basis. He earns a meager income, not sufficient enough to take care of the entire family. Mother is a homemaker.

EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND:
Smithi, being a brilliant student, had to discontinue her studies post 2nd PUC and support her family financially. She, therefore, was the breadwinner alongside her father.

FINANCIAL BACKGROUND:
Smith's father, Mr. Jerritt, was the only breadwinner of the family and post-pandemic, he had to face decreased income, job losses, and work stoppages which were damaging to his family.  Hence, Smithi had to discontinue her education and had to take up a job in a private company.  The total family income was too meager for them to meet up with daily expenses, and adding to this constraint was Smithi's deteriorating health.

HEALTH, TAKING A TOLL:
All was well for Smithi, until post vaccination in the year 2021, she fell very ill & no one could understand what was happening. They admitted her to a government hospital and was diagnosed with Dengue leaving her and her family devastated with medical expenses. She was then brought home but never got better. Her health started deteriorating more and more. Her parents struggled with medical expenses and thought that she might get better with Acupuncture & homeopathic medicines. Recently some serious clinical symptoms showed up repeatedly & she was critically and emergently admitted in ICU in a private hospital. Her dreams of a bright future stands shattered now with frazzled parents and siblings. What was more shocking is that, now Smithi, has been diagnosed with life-threatening disseminated tuberculosis (a dangerous infection caused by mycobacteria spreading across the body), sepsis with septic shock and quadriparesis (severe muscle weakness of bilateral arms and legs, which can cause a permanent disability). MRI scan reveals clumping of lumbosacral roots, with subsequent abdominal CT revealing tubo-ovarian abscess and empyema. All these diagnoses are life-threatening and incredibly critical.

FUNDS REQUIRED FOR HOSPITALIZATION:
Smithi, in a critical stage in the ICU, is battling for her life. At this crucial juncture, the need of the hour is to help Smithi by way of monetary support for the treatment. Hospitalization with prolonged ICU stay needs enormous amount of funding. As per the current estimates per the treating doctor, an amount of Rs.40,000/- is required per day including all the other hospital expenses.

HELP AND SUPPORT SMITHI:
To ensure relentless medical support and to make certain that Smithi in this critical stage is not left out by fellow humans and likeminded people who wish to help her, please be advised that she needs financial support immediately. Every minute is crucial as she battles a dangerous and critically life-threatening diseases. Please come forward to help Smithi. The donors here have always been very generous, and please be kindly noted that each and every rupee that you contribute will be regarded as highly valuable.
