"Greetings to one and all. My name is Smiline Tharunnekha Thomas from Chennai, Tamilnadu,India. I hail from very humble, lower middle class family. I am currently completed my 2ndyear of MBBS course (MD) at TBILISI STATE MEDICAL UNIVERSITY, Tbilisi, Georgia. I have always looked up to doctors from childhood, the work they do, saving lives, doing the best for humanity. ( Especially during most dangerous COVID pandemic time, i truly got more inspired and proud to have chosen this field as my career.) But now, with each passing day, my dream seems to be fading away due to the financial crisis.
My parents have always supported my dream & pushed me to do my best. Becoming a doctor is not only my dream but also my parents'. They own a small catering business back home in Chennai & managed to pay my University fees, sacrificing everything in their life, for the past few years with whatever little income they made. However, like several other small-scale businesses, the Covid-19 Pandemic wasn't very kind to them and their business was heavily affected. It went into a big loss and sadly had to be closed down. They've exhausted their savings for their sustenance & cannot afford to pay the completion of my medical studies anymore.
I have completed 4 out of 12 semesters ( actually i am supposed to be completed 7thsemester as of 31st August 2022. I haved paused my studies for 3 semesters which is thel ast chance of pausing ) and i need to pay the fees in order to move ahead. The dead line to pay my fees was 30th June 2022 but as I do not have the required amount of funds needed, i requested the University for an extension date. They've granted me permission topay my fees by 25th August 2022. IF I cannot pay the fees by then either then I will have to drop out of the course that I have worked so hard for so far.
I aspire to improve many more lives after becoming a doctor and help develop the field of medicine so that we can be better prepared for future disaster like the prevailing COVID 19 pandemic. Many humanitarians rose to help out those affected in these testing times. I started this fundraiser with the hope that humanitarians like you will resonate with my cause and donate to help me achieve this goal. And I promise everyone that when God gives me some strength in life, I will surely help others, who in need, like you all.
I and my family cannot afford the huge amount of ( $ 10500 ) for rejoining my course and I turn to you all to help me complete my education. Any contribution, big or small is one step closer to complete my education.Thank you for your support & kindness.
God bless you all abundantly.
