    Slum dwelling children

    from Mandya, Karnataka

I, being a frequent visitor to the dentist, often feel enormously privileged to have the means and access to quality dental health care providers. This got me thinking about all the children who do not even afford basic products such as toothbrush and toothpaste to maintain their dental hygiene.
Thus, I have decided to donate one good quality toothbrush and toothpaste to each and every children below the age of 15 residing in the areas classified as 'slums' by the municipality of Mandya city.
There are a total of 24 slums in city of Mandya with an estimated population of about ten thousand (10,000) children below the age of 15. A pair of toothbrush and toothpaste of Colgate costs Rs.22/-. So, we will incur a total cost of Rs.2,20,000/- (Two lakh twenty thousand rupees) to procure the products for distribution.

Why Mandya?
Of course, because, I was born and raised there till the age of five and I would like to start from the place that I was born in.
