Jhanav is a 7 year old child who lives with his mother, Kavitha, and older brother. Kavitha works as a domestic worker and her monthly income is 5000 INR. A few years ago her husband left the family. He refuses to share custody or responsibility for the children. The past two years have seen Kavitha trying to educate her two sons, with whatever help she gets from her maternal side of the family. The last year was very tough for this family of three. The older son, Prasanna, could continue his education since he was enrolled under the Rte quota at a private school. However, unable to pay Jhanav's fees, Kavitha was forced to withdraw him from his school. Since then Jhanav has been trying to study at home, with the help of Prasanna and his cousin sister (Kavitha's elder sister's daughter). Kavitha is, understandably, worried about Jhanav. She also has a disability in her right foot- the toes on this foot are completely burnt off due to a childhood accident. This makes regular, physical chores for her difficult, and she is not able to take on additional work too.
We appeal to you for helping Jhanav get enrolled into a new school and continue his education. The total cost for this is 50,000 INR for the year 2021-22.

Books & stationery: 2200 INR
Tuition fee for the year: 22,800 INR  
Smart phone for online classes: 10,000 INR

The smart phone will be shared by the two brothers.
The new school is close to the family's house.
