Story
About the Fundraiser
16 people have lost their lives in Maharashtra as heavy rains and overflowing rivers swamped five districts which includes the flood affected areas of Kolhapur, Sangli and Satara, displacing more than 140,000 people.
Hundreds of villages in 9 districts of North Karnataka are also inundated due to heavy rainfall and release of dam water in the region.
Habitat for Humanity India is working to provide immediate relief to the families affected by the floods. Your contribution will help us intervene in Karnataka and Maharashtrathrough Humanitarian Aid Kits and Emergency Shelter Kits.
Participate in our Relief Efforts.
In Phase 1, Our goal is to provide Humanitarian Aid Kits and provide Emergency Shelter Kits
About Habitat for Humanity India
Since 2002, Habitat for Humanity has been involved in various disaster relief efforts. In the recent Kerala floods, we were the NGO with the largest reach to flood victims (more than 130,000 served). Our largest intervention was during Tsunami wherein we built more than 13,000 homes.
Driven by the vision that everyone needs a decent place to live, Habitat for Humanity began in 1976 as a grassroots effort. The housing organization has since grown to become a leading global nonprofit working in more than 70 countries. In India since 1983, Habitat for Humanity has supported more than 30 million people to build or improve a place they can call home. Through financial support, volunteering or adding a voice to support affordable housing, everyone can help families achieve the strength, stability and self-reliance they need to build better lives for themselves. Through shelter, we empower.
