Mumbai is famous for a myriad of things, ranging from its culture and its food to the prevalence of cricket in the city. However, Mumbai is notorious for one thing; the hundreds of thousands of slums in the city. These slums are spread all over the city, but certain areas are much more congested than others.
As local residents, we have also observed that there is minimal healthcare provided to the people in such slums, which is catastrophic, considering the unhygienic nature of the areas.
We, as students, seek to cause a change in this, by providing fifty first-aid kits to one of these areas. Furthermore, we also wish to provide 50 sanitary pads to women in these regions, which, needless to say, is necessary.
This will be our cost break up. The remaining money will mainly be used to buy plastic bags, and will also help fund our transport.
