We work with over 250 BPL families supporting them with housing, living costs and food during COVID-19.

This campaign is to raise funds to support close to 2000 people who are on the roads without food and are dying of starvation.

The money raised will be used to:

Cover ration for a month - Rice, oil, dals, milk, rava, wheat flour, sugar, lentils, cereals, pulses, vegetables and fruits and other basic grocery

Improve sanitisation - To source soaps, shampoo, dettol, bandages, diapers for children and sanitary pads along with a basic first aid kit.

Monthly expenses- basic medicines, living costs  and food.

How Covid 19 has impacted the Shelter Homes and the daily wage workers :

In these times of Covid-19, the ones who are affected the most are the marginalised sections of the society. The people we support and work with directly fall into this category. Children who reside in the confines of a shelter home are dependent on the home to provide them basic food, clothing, safety and education. These shelter homes are typically dependant on one-time donors, individuals who sponsor meals/clothing, and corporate donations to meet their basic requirements. In these times, when all economic activity is shut down and people are hesitant to step out of their homes, these children get affected as a result and they aren’t able to meet their bare minimum also and these children are sometimes thrown out of these shelters. The same is with daily wage workers and other below poverty line people.

We want them to feel safe and know that we are looking out for them as humans. This is an attempt to raise funds so we can help the shelter homes as well as BPL people and their families who belong to the marginalised communities and/or daily wage income group. This is the time that all of us come together to support all those in need of support during this lockdown period.

Some of these workers don't even have a ration card which would have been of help to get them basic supplies and are now depending on us to help them survive this tough battle. We shall be providing all of these for them until stability is formed.
