I want to inform you all with a heavy heart that a BTech sophomore year student, from IIT Patna, Shivam Kumar (1901CE44), met a road accident on 16 Feb and is in the ICU under very serious conditions. He has multiple bone fractures, along with ruptured veins that have completely paralyzed his right hand, causing hematoma(clotting). He's right now in an unconscious state on an endotracheal tube for the past 3 days as he's not able to breathe. He was referred from a local hospital in Bokaro to a private hospital in Ranchi by looking at its severity. Doctors have informed that his right hand has to be amputated soon as most of his hand is under necrosis, and the infection would spread to his entire body and cost his life.

Under this extreme situation, his family is not able to cope up with the emotional as well as the financial burden. Belonging from a very low-income group, his father not having a job due to the pandemic has put tremendous pressure on them. As informed by his relatives, current hospital expenses are very high, and they are completely devastated by it.

Under these circumstances, his parents are trying the best they can do. On their behalf, I beg you all to assist the family with the maximum you can financially. Being a strong IITP family of 2000+ members, a contribution from you all would help us raise a notable amount. Even a meager amount of ₹100 would bring a sufficient total.
