"Seelampur" was the hub of riots against CAB and CAA which closed down schools even before the lockdown.
Deesha one of the brightest students in class needs your help.
Deesha’s father was a daily wage worker in a school bag manufacturing factory. With lockdown and closing of schools the demand for same hit rock bottom. The factory could no longer stay operational and closed down rendering the only wage earner in the family unemployed
Deesha’s mother faced complications in her pregnancy 2 years ago and the treatment for the same exhausted all the family resources. With meager resources, the family was struggling to make ends meet
The current pandemic accentuated the dismal conditions. The family owes a debt of Rs.23,000 to the school and is unable to pay the course fee this year of about Rs. 2000.(Total= Rs. 25,000)
Given the struggling and challenging conditions of the school, School authorities are asking to pay the debt off else they will have to drop the student and stop her online learning.
Deesha’s parents are quite invested in their daughter’s study and don’t want to drop off and waste a year. After struggling for the past 6 months her father is able to secure a job of Rs.5000/ month. However, they’re not in a position to waive off their school debt and need one-time help to continue their daughter’s study.
We at Teach for India are continuously fighting for Educational Equity as well as Equality. Our goal is that one day all children will attain an excellent education.
What are we looking for?
Given the current background, I urge you to help me fundraise for Deesha’s school debt and course fee. We are willing to accept any amount you wish to contribute to the best of your capacity right now.
How you can help us apart from the above?
By disseminating this message (or post) or connecting with someone who can help.
The funds raised would go directly to for waiving off Deesha’s school fee debt and course fee.
Remember every action counts, we are in this together. I truly believe that we’ll definitely get through this!
