We are reaching out for your expedited help and request with folded hands for your kind and immediate attention.
My brother, Shiva Verma, 28 years old has recently been diagnosed with Disseminated Tuberculosis (Multiple tuberculomas in brain/D12 L1 Potts with paravertebral abscess with Bilateral psoas abscess/TB myelitis with spinal arachnoiditis with right great toe TB osteomyelitis with pulmonary lesion). He was promptly started on 5drug ATT with steroids and antiepileptic medication. In view of low GCS, pupillary anisocoria, my brother was electively intubated and started on mechanical ventilation. Neurosurgery opinion was sought and EVD was placed in view of asymmetric hydrocephalus.
My brother's condition is very critical. There are multiple surgeries to be done for his brain, kidneys, spine, stomach and for his right foot's toe ulcer. Currently, he requires and is planned for VP shunt insertion drainage of PSOAS abacess and tracheostomy. Multiple teams including neurology/neuro surgery/orhto/ general surgery/ nephrology + Critical care teams are involved in the domain specific area.
His current treatment and the reports are attached as the supporting documents.
With folded hands, I appeal you to please help me improve my brother's condition. He is currently admitted in ICU in PSRI, Sheikh Sarai, New Delhi-110017. Because of his critical condition, it would be very risky to shift him in any other hospital. The daily hospital expenses and the cost of the surgeries to be done is very high and it is going to take a lot of time for him to recover fully.
Due to the lockdown situation, my father's financial condition has not been very good and I'm the only earning member in our family.
Any contribution would be of immense help. And, even if you can't contribute, I request you to please pray for my brother's speedy recovery.
