In these unpredictable times of uncertainty all we can be sure about is the fact that human spirit to help each other still prevails. The COVID-19 tragedy unfolding in India became intensely personal when we lost our dear family friend Mr. Atul Chaturvedi. And yet, as we grieve our friend’s loss, our thoughts immediately go to his family. We wonder if this could have been us. We wonder how our families would cope and shudder.
We resolve to do everything we can to help his children at least get the opportunities they deserve. It is in this we ask for your help.
A bit about Atul
Atul was a wonderful soul and an accomplished personality whose first instinct was to help others, a dedicated son, husband and father, and the best friend to everyone. He will always be remembered by his friends as full of life, always enthusiastic for new experiences, and never say no attitude. He was a gem of a guy with a heart of gold, above all a man dedicated to his beautiful family.
While he was in the process of building the finances for the family, Atul lost the battle to COVID-19 and left us on 8th May 2021.
Atul, 47 years of age, a system engineer was originally from Kolkata and settled in Bangalore. He was the sole bread earner of his family, leaving behind his loving wife Shikha and his 2 young kids (11 yrs. and 8 yrs. old) and his parents; who were the love of his life. Today the family faces a severe existential crisis since Shikha is a homemaker and the family doesn’t have assured sources of income to ensure the children’s education. Even though his wife is a fighter and she will try hard to stand on her own feet but till that time we want to help her and the kids to come out of this sudden loss. His wife and both the kids were also got covid and were hospitalized too and now after getting negative report of covid are recovering.
Supporting his family in the time of need
While true to his proud Atul took best care of his family till the very end, there is some need of support to provide his young family some semblance of stability and help ease some of their distress. His children deserve the better future that Atul was working hard to provide them. In this vein, we request you who have known Atul yourself or through friends or community, or through this appeal; to consider this request for help. We thank you for your kindness, your solidarity, your generosity.
We are all together raising this amount to set up a policy for his children that guarantees a monthly recurring amount that can help ensure an education that equips them to make it in their world, and give them a chance to make the future that their father would have wanted for them.
We know that this grief is beyond repair, no words can ever bring back or fulfill void in the family’s life but knowing that we are with them is the least we can do. It is impossible to believe that Atul’s kind and compassionate smile is lost forever. But with your kind help, we hope to keep the smiles on Atul’s kids, and ensure their bright future.
