Respected Sir/Madam,
I am reaching out to you to let you know that my father, a retired person, Sri Shiba Prasad Das has encountered a horrible road accident on 16/12/2020 and is fighting for his life in the CCU of R N Tagore Hospital, Kolkata. He has suffered massive cerebral haemorrhage. After spending few days totally unconscious, he is very slowly responding to the treatment. Nowadays, he can only blink his eyes without any vision and in a comatose state.
As far as treatment given so far includes intubation and tracheostomy. The treatment cost has already mounted to INR 2.78 Lakhs and is expected to become a huge amount as he stays longer in the hospital. The total expenses would easily cross 10 lakhs since it is anticipated to take few months to come out of this stage by the treating doctor. Support from relatives have so far helped our family partly cope with the expenses.
Regarding the financial stability of our family here I would like to share few words. My father draws a modest monthly pension. I am an employee of a private organisation, who herself is still in struggling phase to achieve financial security. My mother requires regular medication to sustain. My brother is battling with psychiatric issues under regular and costly medication. The combined medical expenses for my mother and brother is already an enormous challenge for us. We have already exhausted my father’s savings in this effort. Now, with my father’s soaring treatment expenses, we are facing an unsurmountable financial crisis. It is impossible for me to arrange the total expenses myself in order to continue his treatment and save his life.
