I am Sheik Thameem and this fund raiser is for my elder brother Sheik Dawood Ibrahim. My brother has been diagnosed with stage 3 Kidney cancer and need immediate medical attention. My brother was complaining about lower abdomen pain for some time and had one episode of haematuria. He consulted Be Well Hospitals in Pondicherry and multiple scans were performed. It was found that he is having issues with his left kidney and infections in lungs. From Be Well Hospitals, he was referred to Apollo Speciality Hospitals, Chennai since diagnosis were of advanced cancer.  In Chennai we consulted doctors from Apollo Hospitals, Cancer Institute WIA and Kauvery Hospitals. He went through multiple tests and it was confirmed that he is having stage 3 cancer in his left Kidney and infections are spread all the way across to his lungs. All the doctors suggested that left kidney has to be removed immediately to stop the further spread and post the kidney removal his lungs need to be treated.

Since he need immediate medical attention, we decided to continue the treatment with Kauvery Hospitals, Chennai.  As part of treatment, his left Kidney would be removed first which itself would cost 3 lakhs (only for operation) and 5 days of bed rest. After the operation PET scan would be taken to determine the extent of his infections spread and biopsy to determine the level of radiation and Chemotherapy required.  At present we don’t know much days my brother has to spend in hospital and how much would it cost for him to recover completely. But what we understood is that we need round 8 – 10 lakhs for the complete treatment.

My brother is a fighter and all his life was a fight to provide a good life for us which consists of our parents and us, two younger brothers. Our father is a daily labourer and mother is a home maker. My brother’s income is the main source us and we were slowly recovering from a paralysis that happed to our mother. With my brother’s income we were managing our mothers treatment but the expense for his treatment is beyond he could manage. So we are seeking your help and any contribution from you would help my brother to be back to his normal life.
