As the world comes together to fight coronavirus, the state of Bihar, in India, is facing an acute lack of infrastructure to deal with the scale of the pandemic. The state, with a population of 11 crores, has just one COVID-19 testing centre, that too only in the capital city of Patna. The Chief Minister of the state, Nitish Kumar, has said on record that the state needs at least 5 lakh Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) kits, but has so far only received 4,000 such kits from the Central government.

Local reports state that doctors working in the Nalanda Medical College and Hospital, one of Patna's largest government hospitals, have started showing signs of corona due to the unsanitised conditions that they are being made to work in.

I'm a native of Patna and a graduate from IIT Delhi and IIM Calcutta. This is my personal effort to bring together those who feel for Bihar so that we can pull our state out of this crisis. I would like to raise funds for two primary things:

1) To distribute at least 1,000 PPE kits to doctors and nurses working in the frontline.

2) To at least provide one meal a day to 100 such people who have lost their means of livelihood due to the lockdown.

A little effort from the community in these times can go a long way in helping those who are most vulnerable to the vagaries of these times. Any help or support is appreciated!
