Sex workers are often stigmatised, marginalised and criminalised by the societies in which they live. In various ways, these factors contribute to their vulnerability to HIV.
Even though sex work is at least partially legal in some countries, the law rarely protects sex workers. On this note,  Purnkuti has pledged to provide nutritional support to 60 HIV positive sex workers for the upcoming year in Budhwar Peth. The lack of acceptance and awareness, has left thousands of sex workers  and HIV affected women across India in a very vulnerable position.Every month Purnkuti will be providing a box containing (  1 kg peanut - Rs 120 per kg , jaggery 1 kg - Rs 80 per kg and dates 1/2 kg - Rs 150 per kg)  to the HIV positive sex workers to maintain their nutrition.
