Fundraiser-Phase 1 (Target= end of August 21’):
While the day to day needs of the home are met by a few good Samaritans every month, the expenditure to buy a plot of land and build on it is a huge one.
It would be a huge help if at least 20 lakhs can be raised within the month, as the owner (a good Samaritan himself, selling the land at sub-market rate) of the land is relocating and wants to sell the land before he leaves town. The land that they are currently planning to buy is a small plot of 240 Sq.yards size. (Details / documents uploaded below). This is really not enough to house 25 kids, but this is probably the best we can do given the circumstances/ finances.
Fundraiser-Phase 2 (Target= December 21’):
We would need to build a bare-minimum 3 storied house (1500SFT/ floor x 3 floors), which would cost at least 50 Lakhs. We hope to seek the help of some corporates (corporate social responsibility funds) for this huge amount, but as a society it would be prudent to do whatever we can to give these kids a decent life. So, please do help as much or as little as you can. Every little helps!
Do spread the word around. Thanks for your time.
A little about Monica Sharma:
After having lost her husband at a very young age, she decided to dedicate her life to the care of homeless kids. Since she hailed from an orthodox family it was strongly looked down upon by her family members. However, she persisted in her efforts and has set up this home for the kids where she raises her own daughter as well as that of her sister’s whom she lost to an unfortunate accident. She has even won her mother over with her sincerity and efforts that her mother has supported her in this noble endeavor and also lives with them and takes care of the kids along with her.
I can personally vouch for her sincerity and honesty and would be happy to answer any further queries regarding this request.
