Mr Sethuraman has a history of Diabetes ,Hypertension and Ischaemic Heart Disease. He had undergone a bypass surgery around 4 years back and  a year ago his kidney failed. He has since then been on dialysis  three times a week. He doesn't have a regular source of income and is dependent on his savings and contributions from friends for his dialysis.

Every dialysis session costs him around Rs.2000 and along with Hemopoietin injections, the monthly expenditure is around Rs 40,000.
I have been treating him and have been in touch with him for the last 5 years. 

The only permanent option to dialysis is a kidney transplant and his wife is ready to donate her kidney. The approximate cost of the transplant in Madurai will be Rs10,00,000 (10 Lakh Rupees). Following the transplant, he will be on Immunosuppressants for his lifetime, which will cost approximately Rs.15,000 per month for the rest of his life.
