Saurav Singh Rawat is one of our best team members who just joined our family on February 15, 2021 during COVID times. As we all know life can be Ironic and testing as within a few days his father Mr. Gyan Singh Rawat (Age-56 yrs.) got diagnosed with Stage 4 Lung Cancer (Squamous Cell Carcinoma) in March 2021. Mr Rawat, father to two children, has been working as a Lab Assistant in ‘Airforce Bal Bharti School, Lodhi Road’ for the last 30 yrs., he is at present fighting this disease with his family and is undergoing treatment at home since last 4 months.
As the first line of treatment, doctors suggested to go with traditional Chemotherapy, so for last four months Saurav’s father was getting the Chemotherapy at AIIMS. After completing four cycles of the chemotherapy, doctors asked to repeat the PET CT Scan to review the spread of the disease. In the scan the doctors found that the disease is in the progression stage and has spread to other organs.
Doctors have prescribed Mr. Rawat to go for the Immunotherapy treatment (Drug: Nivolumab), which would be costing approx. 3 lakh/month (for 2-3 injection) and needs to continue this treatment for next 3 months approx. Doctors have said that this treatment will be life saving for him.
Unfortunately, the family has ran out of all their life savings and this treatment is also not covered under any medical insurance, hence reaching out on behalf of our colleague and his family to seek help and support for Mr Gyan Singh Rawat’s continued fight with Cancer and every kind gesture of yours will count towards noble initiative of saving a life and keeping the family intact.
