Messy grey locks describe the totem of painful journey, deep pale eyes speak of his loneliness and swelled up face tells the tale of unheard disease. Satbir's look throws light on his dark and blue life.

Words don't flow from his mouth. Satbir Singh winces in pain as he says, "As I lie down and look at the roof, loneliness haunts me. When I get up and step out, I get subjected to harsh scrutiny from people who don't even know me. It all started with a jaw pain that grew into a malignant tumour. Now it has spread all over, disfiguring my face and, I cannot do anything"

Two years ago, Satbir had pain in the jaw, and he visited a local dentist in his village. The doctor removed his teeth to provide relief but, his mouth started bleeding and, his jaw area got swelled up after that. After collecting money from relatives, he took treatment for a long time, but nothing changed. There was pus formation which got swelled up and later took the form of a malignant tumour. He could not continue treatment due to a lack of funds.

A jaw tumour is an odontogenic tumour, which refers to the abnormal growth of a mass of tissue or cysts affecting the jaw. It varies in size and severity. Satbir's case is cancerous (malignant) and can spread to nearby areas. A combination of surgery and medical treatment is recommended to help him get rid of this cancerous tumour beyond his capacity.

58-year-old Satbir lives a lonely and depressed life with no one to look after him. He has no parents, kids or wife. His brothers abandoned him and took away his share of the property. It's hard for him to earn a living in such a vulnerable state as his tumour pains and bleeds.

He has to leave work. Because of a growing tumour, he cannot open his mouth properly and eat. With shedding age, complications are worse, as he experiences shortness of breath, loss of appetite, fever, and sometimes bloody stools. Sometimes he faints and keeps lying on the ground for hours.

"All I can remember is being in excruciating pain and praying for it to end. I cannot talk, eat food or even breathe properly. As I cannot close my mouth, I am constantly drooling. My brothers left me alone. I am unable to earn a living for myself. My life has been thrown out of gear by this condition. I don't feel fit enough for society. Will my suffering end or, I will die battling with tumour." - says Satbir.
