Support Our School

Sardar Kanhoji Angre English Medium School, Shukrawar Peth is a PMC school situated in the heart of the city of Pune. The school has about 200 students spread across from Jr.kg to Grade 7. The school has been intervened by Teach For India since 5 years now. Our mission is to provide excellent education to all the students coming to school with high expectations.
Due to heavy rains in Pune this year, the condition of the school building/classrooms are in poor state. There are leakages in the ceiling of a few classrooms makes it difficult to conduct classes.
Through this fundraiser, we would paint and buy furniture for our classrooms and library.

A lot of classrooms in our school don’t have proper lights and fans. With the funds we will fix tube lights and fans so that the kids have a comfortable learning space. Since our school does not have a playground the kids don’t have any proper place to play and vent their energy in a positive way As a school we believe in the holistic development of kids and therefore with the funds we would like to have swings, slides and jungle gym in the limited space that we have.

Requirements:1. Benches - There are 33 young and enthusiastic learners in the grade 7 classroom of Sardar Kanhoji EMS. But 20 of them are forced to sit on the floor due to the lack of proper furniture. There are only 11 2-seater benches in class and the rest of the students are forced to sit on the floor. With the growing bodies of teenagers, they find it very difficult to sit on the floor for the entire duration of school. Benches in class will allow them to shift attention from their constant backache and cramped legs to what is being taught.
2. Projector/TV- As most of the students in grade 7 are Audio-visual learners, it is really difficult to cater to the needs of these kids with the aid of technology. There are various concepts in Science, Geography and Math just to name a few which would be reinforced through videos or visual representation. This would also help save time in class of writing on the board as any relevant notes can be displayed for th to take down. A smart devise in class will go a great way to help me as a teacher cater to more learners and more learning styles. The Audio-visual input will help concepts stay in their memory.

We have 23 very excited and active students in grade 6 who love playing, running and need to be taught in different learning languages for them to retain attention and engage in their learning. A projector and computer will go a long way to help explore different ways to help my students learn new and different things in different ways and help them get more access and exposure to the outside world.

We have very enthusiastic students who are really active and often keep running. The current benches are not in good condition where the seats are falling off with pieces of metal sticking out. This is very dangerous for the students. New benches with desks will help all the students in class with seats of their own and a safe environment for them to be themselves.

We would like to utilise the funds in the following ways :
Whitewash and Painting of 5 classrooms : ₹75000 (15000 x 5)
Buying and fixing electrical appliances : ₹7000
Purchase of  benches : ₹10000
Purchase of cupboard for classroom : ₹25000 (₹5000 x 5)
Whiteboard : ₹18000 (₹6000 x 3)
Projector : 15000 (₹5000 x 3)
Pad disposal machine : ₹12000
Furniture for Library : ₹10000
Sports equipments (Football, Basketball, Badminton rackets, nets, etc) : ₹4000
Plumbing work in washrooms (repair of taps) : ₹1000
Medical kit : ₹1000
Materials for science lab : ₹15000
Miscellaneous Expenses (Labour cost) : ₹7000

We have bought a printer! It has helped us out a lot in daily school administration work for the principal and the teachers. Attaching a picture of the printer in action! We have also bought notice boards for the school which we are going to use to make our school more lively and informative for the children.
