Hello all,
This campaign I am starting with my personal interest to make our Village Temple Pond clean and usable for people around it. Let me introduce myself, my name is Sarath Sankar from a middle class family in Kerala - India and like every other guy ended up being in IT field as an Animation Artist. My Village is in Kerala India, and called as Azhiyidathuchira (Yes hard to pronounce :D).
Here we have a huge Pond which belongs to the Temple, during my childhood lot of people used to come to the pond to take shower or to play in water, to learn swimming etc. I am now 30 years and the time I am mentioning was when I was around 10 years old. Even that time also the water and surroundings were not so tidy but it was OK. If I roughly say from my father's childhood time the pond was not maintained well, so lets say more than 50 years the pond is same with stagnant, murky cloudy algae filled water.
Our pond was once home for a lot of fish species and other amphibians, now you can barely see fishes and tortoises and with the recent Flood in Kerala which affected in our area was the most made the pond to accept lot of foreign bodies in the depth of it,During summer we experience drought here and there won't be water in our home-well (which holds the major source of water or individual homes around) and our pond will have water but its not usable for any purpose because of its murky water and algae depositions.
So to make the long story short - many approached the authorities who are supposed to clean the pond to do so and renovate the pond so it will add beauty to the village and people can use the pond as before. They responded saying " We don't have fund to spend on that cause".
This news from them made me come here and start this campaign to raise fund to restore our pond back and to make it a great ecosystem to glorify our village. Estimating and keeping it as 6 lakh INR and do as step by step and try to limit expenses within that budget.

I will use this fund to clean the pond, pave stone all around add fishes, install some bio filter system to make it clean life long, install CCTV camera to get rid of anti socials.
