While I was organizing for this menstrual awareness drive, I had no idea how deep it can be and what impact it will have on me or those girls and women. But when I hit those streets and gave them the packages and talked to them in person, I realized it's just not about their health and safety but it's more than that. We are living in a country where these deprived menstruators are supposedly said 'NO' when they come to ask for something which they direly need, where these women have no idea what harm it can cause to their bodies and they use other substitutes owing to their crippling financial situation and where its a shame to talk about 'periods' because its a taboo all this owing to the high rate of illiteracy and a lack of awareness. And thus as a team leader for the City Ghaziabad under THE PERIOD PROTECTION PROJECT, I want to work for these women and girls to bring a change in their lives and dedicate myself to this cause.
I want to raise 10000 by October 20, 2021, as I along with my team will be organizing a two-day long awareness drive for these women and girls wherein we will be targeting the impoverished and rural areas of Ghaziabad and organizing campaigns and awareness drives to educate these women and girls and tell them how important it is to use menstrual hygiene products and all other important details related to menstruation.
