    Sankalp Srivastava

    from Shivamogga, Karnataka

Sankalp Srivastava (aged 26 years) was one of the friendliest, most loving and enthusiastic people you could have come across. This is a fact that anybody who has worked him or even come across him would willingly testify. He had the ability to make anybody smile and be happy, no matter the odds.

But as it befell, he was diagnosed with Jaundice and had to be admitted to the hospital in his hometown of Shimoga due to related complications on December 30, 2021. Unfortunately, the medication did not help and his fever ranging over 100 degrees Fahrenheit did not subside and he had to be consequently moved to the emergency wing of Manipal Hospital, Udupi on January 7, 2022.

While there, he developed a Sodium deficiency in his body that led to a heart stroke and it took more than 20 minutes for his pulse to restore. During this time, his brain got damaged to an extent of over 80% and he suffered a heart attack.

He was comatose and had to be put on a ventilator where he was left to battle for his life for the last one week while no therapy could make it better and his body eventually stopped responding to the treatments.

His heart finally gave up on Wednesday, January 19 of 2022 and he left behind an unending list of well-wishers with broken hearts and tears.

As one can imagine, the family is shattered at the loss of their only beloved son in the prime of his life. And they also had to endure witnessing him suffer for all this time.
We echo similar sentiments at the loss of such a promising young friend who was the epitome of the term, 'a gem of a person.

We all are united in praying that you find peace, Sankalp and we promise you that you shall forever remain in our happy memories.

At this time, we are reaching out to you all with a sincere request to extend your support and contribute however much feasible to you in the honour and memory of Sankalp. The collected funds would go to his parents towards the medical and shelter expenses.
