A small team of fellows and volunteers from the Ahmedabad Chapter of Teach for India work with MG Primary School in Kubernagar area (Near. Ahmedabad Airport).
This community mainly consists of bootleggers and hence the people do not have enough money to guarantee education. The only support they have is from the school where they study, the Low income private school teachers of their school, and the TFI fellows who work with them on a daily basis.
The Pandemic has been a very difficult phase for the students and the community they belong to. Many of the parents have lost their jobs and there was a crisis in terms of attaining basic ration for the families.
This is where Sutho Shringaar comes into the picture. Local Sindhi Women who wanted to take charge of their children’s future want to rise to the occasion. Taking note, Volunteers and Fellows have helped train these women. Sessions were conducted to teach them everything from how to source raw material to packaging a final product. We want these women to stand up on their own two feet and own their entrepreneurial journey.
Sutho Shringaar, is a local initiative where the women drive business and retain profits. Every cent of the earnings goes back these women so their children can have a better future.
Sutho Shringaar need business funding to be able to meet direct business expenses and initial costs to buy raw material and introduce new designs. We’re still setting up shop and learning how much capital is required to set a business from ground up.
A portion of the money will be set aside as a reserve emergency fund for women who work with Sutho Shringaar. Healthy Homes are Happy Homes ♥️
